Hotel La Chance, Pila

Set high up in the Pila ski area at a little over 1800m, the Hotel La Chance is set in a converted barn with incredible views of the mountains all around. We have been using the hotel for as long as we can remember and it has always been a very popular choice owing to the high standard of accommodation and warmth of the owners.

The hotel can be accessed on skis, but guests need to walk the short distance back to the slopes at the start of the ski day. Lockers are available to hire inexpensively at the top of the gondola station and so if preferred, it is often desirable to leave ski equipment there each day.

The interior of the hotel is sympathetically designed, incorporating the rustic cosiness of local materials, including lots of exposed wood and stone. With the incredible views as well, this really feels like a mini mountain paradise. The large lounge and bar area are perfect for relaxing evenings and the small but well equipped wellness area offers treatments and massages.

If you're looking for an upmarket and cosy refuge where you can maximise ski time and relaxation in the evenings, there really are few better choices than the wonderful Hotel La Chance.
